Phoebe Kate is a film-first wedding photographer. That means the heart of your coverage — the ceremony, the portraits, the quiet in-between moments — is shot on 35mm film. If you’d like additional digital coverage for broader reception candids or backup, that can be discussed and arranged.
There are no instant previews on the day. No scrolling through a screen between shots. Just presence, attention, and the quiet confidence that comes from trusting the process. Your gallery will be ready 2–4 weeks after your wedding, once the rolls have been developed and scanned at a professional lab.

Phoebe Kate is based in Cairns, QLD — and Far North Queensland is one of the most beautiful places in Australia to get married on film. Palm Cove at golden hour. The lush green of the Daintree. A clifftop on Fitzroy Island. The Atherton Tablelands at dusk. She knows this region and loves shooting it.
She also travels. If your wedding is in Byron Bay, the Whitsundays, Sydney, Melbourne, or somewhere overseas entirely — reach out. Destination weddings are welcomed, and travel is discussed openly and fairly upfront.

Wedding questions, answered.
This depends on the length of your day and the coverage agreed upon, but most couples receive between 300 and 500 images. Every photograph delivered is considered and intentional — not a bulk dump from a memory card.
I use trusted professional labs with rigorous quality control, and always shoots multiple rolls throughout the day. In over years of shooting, I have never lost a roll. For weddings, backup coverage practices are always in place.
Yes. I’m a film-first, but digital coverage can be added to your package — particularly useful for wider reception candids or additional moments across a long day. This is something we can discuss together during your initial conversation.
As early as possible. Kate takes on a limited number of weddings each year to give every couple her full attention. Popular dates — especially in the Cairns dry season from May to September — fill quickly. Six to twelve months ahead is ideal.
Absolutely. An engagement session is a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day, and to get a feel for how I work. It also gives you a set of film portraits you’ll love well before the big day.
